Book Three: Extreme!
HarperCollins Publishers Australia
The new Wheels skate park is about to open when the Freewheelers get a nasty surprise. BMX riders have been banned from using the park – for no apparent reason.
The Freewheelers organise a petition to fight the ban, but it backfires on them. Worse, their appeal to overturn the decision at a council meeting is sabotaged by a rowdy protest from their skateboarding rivals.
For Mio, it's getting personal. Mr Lark's precious dog tags from the Vietnam war have been stolen while in her care, someone is sending abusive e-mails from her account, and now the school wants to expel her.
Mio must take on the skateboarders and ride the course of her life to find the stolen dog tags and win the park back for the Freewheelers. |
Reviews
Every time you read each chapter it just keeps getting better and better.

This is a fast-paced action novel, full of 180 degree rotations, X-ups and grinds that fans of the first books, Unleashed and Launched, will rip through.

Good Reading 2008
As she continues on her own interesting journey as a writer, Jeni Mawter hopes to inspire the next generation of writers to step forward and share their own stories. Through her books, articles on writing for young readers and the creative writing classes she teaches at Macquarie University, she is well on the way to achieving this aspiration.

One of the things I enjoyed and appreciated most about Extreme! (apart from the brilliant chase scenes) was the sensitivity with which Jeni managed issues of race and ethnicity.
